Velvet Teddy Swatch Review

One of the things that stands out about this lipstick is its smooth application. Despite being a matte finish, it glides on effortlessly and is not drying at all. This makes it comfortable to wear throughout the day, even without reapplying. In fact, I found that it stayed put for around 4 to 5 hours, including after snacking on a large cup of frozen yogurt!

While the staying power may not be as strong as some other MAC Mattes I've tried, such as Russian Red or Ruby Woo, Velvet Teddy still has decent staying power. The pigmentation is also well-done, with one swipe giving you a good amount of color. However, I did find that two coats provided an even more opaque finish.

I think this lipstick would be particularly flattering on fair and medium Indian skin tones, although it may wash out those with darker complexions. In natural light, the shade gives a softer pinkish-toned nude that is perfect for a toned-down, no-makeup look. However, when photographed in flash, it can take on a more beige-toned appearance that may not be as flattering.

One thing to keep in mind is that this lipstick should not be worn over chapped lips, as its color will only highlight the dryness of your lips. Overall, I think Velvet Teddy is a great addition to any makeup collection and would make a great everyday lip option for those who want a natural look.
